The Best Hiking Locations in the Rockies!

The Rocky Mountains cover an extensive amount of land which means there will be plenty of fantastic hiking spots within it. So let’s take a look at some of the best hiking locations in the Rockies!

Glacier National Park

Located in Montana, Glacier National Park is filled with tons of great hiking trails. Our favorites are Highline Trail and Grinnel Glacier. Highline Trail is about 11.4 miles long and allows you to see the spectacular beauty that Glacier National Park has to offer. Grinnel Glacier is a 10.3-mile trail that takes you past lakes, cliffs, and meadows all the way to the foot of one of the park’s most iconic glaciers! These are just two of many great trails at Glacier National Park, so check it out when you’re in the area!

Banff National Park

Banff National Park is located in Alberta, Canada that provides some breathtaking scenery. It has a ton of hikes to be conquered, but we recommend trying out Cory Pass and Plain of Six Glaciers. Cory Pass is for more experienced hikers, but it has some of the most spectacular views in all of Banff National Park. The Plain of Six Glaciers hike is much more accessible and offers some great views of Mt. Victoria and Victoria Glacier!

Yellowstone National Park

If you’re in Wyoming, you need to stop by Yellowstone National Park! If you want to see what many think is the highlight of Yellowstone National Park, check out the Upper Geyser Basin Boardwalk. This hike brings you to Old Faithful Geyser, so you can catch an eruption here! Mount Washburn Trail is another favorite for those who want to test their legs. The 6.8-mile round trip gives you great views of Yellowstone and the possibility of seeing some wildlife along the way!

Grand Teton National Park

Another great Wyoming location for hiking is Grand Teton National Park! If you’re looking for a nice, relaxing hike, we suggest Lakeshore Trail. This is a mostly flat trail that gives you views of Jackson Lake and the Teton mountain range! Jenny Lake Loop is another popular hiking trail as it is relatively flat and provides great views of Jenny Lake! This hike is a bit longer at 8 miles, so pack accordingly and stretch those legs!

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is a must-visit for hikers in Colorado. If you are looking for the best trail, check out the Mt. Ida hike. The views from the summit are worth the pretty tough hike! If you don’t want to hike too high up, Ute Trail is a great alternative. It is relatively flat and still provides great views, including those of Forest Canton and Longs Peak!
